Municipal Corporation gets 1500 objections over property tax formula
After a month the new property tax formula has been declared, and their factors for various areas of the city, citizens in Gandhinagar posted as many as 1,500 objections before the GMC.
The corporation has spent the last one week reading 600 objections that were received from citizens. Sources in the GMC say that another 800 objections are still pending to be heard.
This will be first time that Gandhinagar residents will start paying property tax this year.
The objections raised by citizens were mostly related to name change, measurement of carpet area, change of address and ownership. Another round of hearing will be conducted by the GMC once the objections are heard, according to GMC officials.
