Nandigama suffering from Water Crisis
The sources of drinking water for Nandigama Municipality are not enough to meet the increasing demand of the local body. People are forced to depend on the groundwater which is highly contaminated by fluoride content.
The Municipality is not able to maintain the supply of the drinking water at the localities in Krishna district.
The power bore wells are also not functioning regularly and the power cuts have added more problem to the municipality.
As there are scheduled power cuts of 7 hours a day in the town, the municipality is not able to fill its overhead reservoirs to maintain proper water supply over the areas.
The District Administration was putting pressure on the Municipality to supply water everyday, but the local body did not have sufficient sources to supply.
