Narendra Modi’s visit to Nepal reflects friendly terms
Narendra Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Himalayan nation in 17 years, in his visit stressed that their border should be a bridge and not a barrier while he announced a USD 1 billion Line Of Credit to this country. He also assured the people here that India never wanted to interfere in the internal affairs of Nepal.
As India is making efforts to deepen its diplomatic and economic engagement with its neighbours, Modi said it would like to see the rise of Nepal as a developed nation and also proposed a “HIT” formula–Highways, I-Ways and Tramways for the further development of Nepal.
Looking forth to allay fears here of Indian interference in Nepal’s affairs, the Prime Minister stated that India has no intent to dictate or override anything to Nepal. As an independent country it is free to choose its own course in its endeavour so that it can build a stable and prosperous democratic republic.
This is being looked at a very healthy meeting amongst this two neighbouring countries. It would also help in continuing the healthy relationship these two countries have had since all these years.
