Nashik civic body to issue warrants against over 430 property tax defaulters
NASHIK: Municipal commissioner Radhakrishna Game has directed the property tax department to proceed to issue permits against 439 property tax defaulters, who have exceptional dues of higher than Rs 50,000.
The directions were provided by the Game through an up-to-date report meeting endured with the department concerned. Executives of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) stated once the permits are authorized, the defaulters will have to clear the dues within 21 days or suffer action including property breakdown.
Till November 26, the NMC has settled property tax amounting to Rs 101 crores. It intends to accumulate an added Rs 218 crores. At the corresponding time previous year, the civic body had raised Rs 88
Crores as property tax.
There are above 4 lakh property taxpayers behind six parts of the municipal corporation. Of them, 1.97 lakh tax delinquents have entire dues worth Rs 53.28 crores. As numerous as 439 are huge tax defaulters who hold dues of over Rs 50,000. There are approximately 1,240 tax defaulters who have dues among Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000, meanwhile 1.95 lakh debtors owe the NMC less than Rs 10,000.
