NBCC to rework on govt projects in 3 cities
National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), a public sector company, planning to redevelop at least three government housing projects worth Rs 5,000-6,000 crore in various parts of the country. Also, the company is looking to expand its business in Africa and West Asia. NBCC Chairman Anoop Kumar Mittal informed that an agreement for makeover of a government building in Bhubaneswar has been signed while pacts for another two projects in Kolkata and Bhopal are under discussion. High-rise buildings will be developed in place of the old buildings. It will help in utilization of the space.
Two government properties of 100 acres each will be developed by NBCC. It may also take up government properties in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. These properties have area of 20-30 acres. Currently, NBCC is developing flats in East Kidwai Nagar in Delhi. Earlier, it redeveloped Moti Bagh where it erected high-rise apartments, club, banquet halls and amphitheatre. It has received approval from the board to open offices in Muscat in West Asia and Botswana in Africa.
The firm has properties at about 20 locations across the country. It has projects in a lot of cities like Gurgaon, Faridabad, Patna, Alwar, Lucknow, Kolkata, Kochi and Coimbatore.
