New bill to benefit flat owners in Rajasthan

Comments(2) Sub Category:Other cities,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Aug 14, 2012

The flat owners are to be benefited by the new proposed bill in the state of Rajasthan. The state government on Monday introduced the draft of a new law – Rajasthan Apartment Ownership Bill, 2012 – giving more room to the flat owners.

The new bill allows the families in flats access to common or facility areas defined within the apartment block. Under the new law flats can be legally inherited, too.

The bill removes confusion over property rights in group housing or apartment schemes and clarifies the powers and responsibilities of the flat owners and the builders. Under the proposed Act, any building having a minimum of four flats will be covered under the law. Before finalizing the bill the government has invited objections and suggestions by August, 31.
