New CEO for Reliance Infrastructure- IIM-A Alumni M.S Mehta
Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra), a part of the Reliance Group (led by Anil Ambani), has appointed MS Mehta as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company with effect from Monday. Since the industry expects a lot of growth in the infrastructure sector, this is an extremely plum job and the company will expect a lot of profit from this sector flowing in to the company’s balance sheet.
Mehta will take over as CEO from Lalit Jalan, who held the portfolio for over seven years. Lalit Jalan has been promoted as a director (corporate strategy and affairs), who will steer future growth initiatives and efforts of the group.
The statement released by the company talked about these new changes in the executive management and welcomed the new CEO for Reliance Infrastructure. Mehta is a mechanical engineer and an MBA from the topmost Business School of India, Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A). Before joining as a CEO of Reliance Infra, Mehta held the post of the Group CEO of Vedanta Resources for five years.
In his tenure of 14 years in Vedanta, he was instrumental in steering the group into the ranks of the top five natural resources players in the world. Reliance expects such kind of performance from his end as now he has a bigger brand name and bigger play ground to play. The financial world will keep a keen eye on the developments of the group in the next few years.
