New committee formed for improving Mumbai roads

The Maharashtra state government has set up a committee under the chairmanship of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief Sitaram Kunte to address the issue of bad roads.

The new committee will work on a policy to improve the maintenance of all city roads, including non-BMC roads.

It has been formed comprising of members from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), etc.

The chief secretary has formed the committee under the chairmanship of Kunte to prepare a report on the city roads which will be sent to him after taking suggestions from all the stake holders.
