New four-lane link road along Noida-Greater Noida expressway periphery to open in June
The traffic deadlocks on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway will soon be a thing of the past — thanks to the fact that a new four-lane link road along the periphery of the expressway is scheduled to open in June.
The opening of the new 11.2-km link road in June will ensure a convenient ride for commuters travelling from Greater Noida to Noida, and from there to Delhi. As a result of the new link road, commuters will not get stuck in traffic jams on the expressway and Mahamaya flyover.
With the new link road built along the Yamuna canal, there will be no more traffic congestions on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway. Moreover, the new road will also provide connectivity to more than 24 sectors alongside it in Noida towards Delhi, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.
Going by the details shared by the UP irrigation department officials, the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway in Noida Sector 150 will be connected with Okhla Barrage in Kalindi Kunj via the new link road. Furthermore, sectors 94, 95, 124, 125, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 134 and 168 along the expressway will be connected through approximately 20 minor roads.
Revealing that the new link road is “almost 90% complete and only a top bitumen coat is to be laid,” Dhron Kumar – executive engineer, UP Irrigation – said: “This should be completed in the next 15-20 days, after which it (the road) will be opened.”
