New housing policy is essential for Kashmir

The shortage of residential apartments are increasing in Kashmir. The population is expected to increase by 1 million till 2020.

The people of Kashmir will find it difficult to provide them with residential places in near future.

The forests are disappearing to support the upcoming need of lands for construction of residential, industrial, agricultural, or recreational projects.

The natural environment of the valley will come under pressure by the unplanned growth of the city.

Most of the residents in Kashmir prefer to stay in individual houses. Government must encourage the construction of high rising apartments to support the rising demand of apartments in Kashmir.
