New Housing Regulatory Bill criticized

1 Comment Sub Category:Pune,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Aug 14, 2012

The experts have criticized the new housing regulatory bill in Maharashtra.

Under the new housing regulatory bill, not only the developer but even flat buyers can be put behind bars and made to pay a fine if they fail to comply with the housing regulatory authority’s order.

Experts feel there is nothing to cheer about the new housing regulatory bill and it grants even more freedom to developers while restricting the right of buyers.  The main contention from the experts is that much power has been invested in the developer.

Experts maintain that it violates the citizen’s fundamental right of getting essential services, including drinking water and electricity. The developer is empowered to cut the water supply, lift and sewerage connection if the residents fail to pay the outgoing for more than three months.
