The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K E Krishnamurthy stated that the Government will formulate a new land acquisition act. He mentioned that the purpose of the proposed act is to facilitate land acquisition for the new capital after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

There are new institutes/offices which will be set up in view of the bifurcation. The Deputy Chief Minister stated in a press conference in Hyderabad that the government has decided not to implement the New Land Acquisition Act which came into effect from January 1, 2014.

The Government has also directed all the joint collectors and revenue division officers to submit details about the availability of government land and other requirements within two months. This report will be used to formulate and publish the new land acquisition act.

There was also a severe shortage of surveyors in the revenue department which needs to be addressed. There were a lot of short-comings in the functioning of the village revenue officers. The Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy mentioned that all these issues will be streamlined and the government is determined to bring back revenues to the newly formed state capital of Hyderabad and give thrust to the overall economy of the newly formed Andhra Pradesh.

The central government is also supporting the state post bifurcation and the government is confident that the growth will continue as it was happening in the undivided state.
