New parking lot facility to come in NCR
HUDA has finished working on the modalities of its proposed multilevel parking project in Sector 29, which will have a capacity to house 1,300 cars. The tariffs have been decided and the authority will soon float tenders to select a company to construct and operate the parking facility.
HUDA executive engineer RS Bishnoi said that four acres of land in sector 29 have been earmarked for the 60 crore project. Bishnoi stated that they have worked out the modalities such as parking ticketing policy, working and operation. For cars, the charge will be Rs 50 for the first three hours and Rs 10 for each hour thereafter. Similarly for two-wheelers, Rs 10 will be charged for the first two hours and Rs 5 per hour after that. We will soon be floating tenders. It will take a tentative period of 21 months to complete as added by him.
Construction of parking facilities is needed with the rising number of private cars. Parking is always a problem especially in the metropolitan. The HUDA made parking lot facility will probably help in reducing a lot of parking problems in NCR.
