NH-95 maintenance work to start off

No Comments Sub Category:Infrastructure,Realty News Posted On: Sep 12, 2014

Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal today urged Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways Nitin Jairam Gadkari to ask the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to take over the stretch of the NH-95 within the MC limit from the Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, for its maintenance and widening.

In a letter to Gadkari, the Chief Minister informed him that the NH-95 was being four-laned from Chandigarh to Samrala Chowk by the NHAI, but a portion of about 10 km from Samrala Chowk to the MC limit of Ludhiana had not been included. The CM said there was heavy vehicular traffic on this stretch, which resulted in frequent traffic jams due to number of busy intersections such as Bhai Bala Chowk, Aarti Chowk, PAU gate no.1 and 2.

The maintenance work has not been stated as when to start from, although the authority is looking forward to a fast work. Probably the work might take up some months and might get finished off by the coming year. The government officials are taking road maintenance works very seriously.
