NHAI asked to conduct new survey
Mr. Devesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, has asked the project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to conduct a fresh survey of the proposed four-laning of the Kiratpur-Ner Chowk national highway.
Mr. Joginder Walia, president of the joint action committee, says that the decision was taken at the meeting conducted under the supervision of Mr. Devesh Kumar; the meeting was attended by the members of the JAC and the project director of NHAI.
He also added that the joint action committee has been raising the problem of residents of the four panchayats of Dadaur, Bhour, Kanaid and Chowk regarding the enlargement of the highway to 45 meter or developing the bypass on the 4.7 km stretch.
The JAC has been appealing to provide them road service on the above stretch as the area was too much crowded and the four lanes project will have opposite effect on them.
The office members expressed gratitude to the district administration, NHAI authorities and MP Sita Ram Yechuri for road transport.
