NHAI blames developer for delay in Panipat-Jalandhar stretch

Developer blamed by the NHAI for the complex and lengthy legal processes which has stalled the work on the Panipat-Jalandhar highway for over two years.

NHAI is claiming to be ‘helpless’ and is citing complex and lengthy legal processes which has stalled the work on the Panipat-Jalandhar highway for over two years. It is an important road which leads to Pakistan border. They claim that the developer has used the legal processes to his advantages. Supreme Court has reserved its order for over two months after the hearing process that took more than six months, as told by NHAI chairman R P Singh.

The project started in 2008 and was scheduled to be completed by November, 2011. The general public has experienced a lot of inconvenience, as a result.
