No NOC now for NHAI construction- pull outs and more
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has stopped the construction of a building at Pimpalgaon and granted no permit to Sohanlal Bhandari for the same, when allegations on construction purpose and making it from a residential to a commercial one was done without notifications.
It is said that the conditions for the same to obtain a no objection certificate or an NOC as it is known were not met. The NOC terms and conditions state that the construction wasn’t legal, and hence the NOC was withdrawn, says a source from the NHAI project.
Permission for construction along the national highways was for residential purposes only, provided 37m for residential and 27 m for commercial only was maintained. Consumer activists raised the issues and wrote to NHAI last year in June, the letter stated that the gram panchayat was allowing commercial constructions to happen at the disputed plots although the permit was meant only for residential plots
The complaint was followed and an inspection for the same was done. Violations and deviations were brought forward and hence the report clearly stated that Bhandari didn’t seek the needed permissions on the same before he started constructions. Moreover, it was a residential construction that was to be and not a commercial one, which Bhandari played truant with and hence the NHAI withdrew the NOC letter it gave.
