No provisions needed for the metro project at Pune
During the reign of the Congress government, it had failed to make any provisions for the metro project at Pune in its last budget before the elections took place. Ajit Pawar, who happens to be the deputy chief minister as well as the state finance minister, had come up with a budget on Thursday which did not have trace of the Pune Metro Project. The proposal had not made any kind of specific provision for other projects at Pune which still haven’t been completed.
It was also assured by Pawar before that the government would take steps and make provisions for the Pune metro project in the budget of the state. He went ahead and also mentioned that the state would make sure there is quick and fast completion of the project which consists of the 170 km ring road completing both Pune and Pimpri-Chinchiwad.
The interesting part here is that all hopes, desires and promises were destroyed on Thursday itself because Pawar did not manage to speak or mention anything on the metro project. The Centre has also sanctioned the Pune Metro Project and now the state has also made decisions in order to come up with provisions for it in its budget.
