Noida builders asked to get NOC from water authority
After a lot of issues regarding the groundwater usage by the developers of the Noida, the Noida authority has now forced the builders to get no objection certificate from the central groundwater authority( CGWA) to get their building plans sanctioned.
It is made mandatory for the builders who are constructing projects including residential, commercial, institutional or mixed land category to get the certificate from the ground water authority.
An official said developers who are constructing projects in Noida on a large scale will have to seek this clearance from the authority.
This decision came out after National Green tribunal banned extraction of groundwater by the builders on January 11. According to the CGWA officials, they will first inspect the sites developed by the builders and will specify the method of recycling the groundwater before approving the project and building plans.
Along with all this, the authority also took a step of ensuring that the builders adhere to the NGT ban. By February first half, the green tribunal is expected to hear the petition on the ground water misuse.
Few developers like CREDAI’s vice president (west UP) and Supertech CMD RK Arora commented that all the projects that are launched have already gone through the procedure and have obtained clearance from 50 government departments.
