Old buildings pave way for new flats in Delhi

No Comments Sub Category:Apartment News,Delhi-NCR,Realty News Posted On: Jul 19, 2012

The old constructions at Talkatora Road and North and South Avenue will be demolished by Central Public Works Department (CPWD), in order to make space for modern apartment complexes.

A bungalow at Talkatora Road will get replaced by a seven-storeyed apartment complex housing 14 flats and a multi-purpose hall on the ground floor. These flats have got all the required clearances and will be constructed at a cost of Rs 28 crore.

Also the department has planned to demolish existing housing blocks in North and South Avenue and build modern flats in their place, as these housing blocks are above 50 years old.

Meanwhile, the construction of 52 flats for Members of Parliament has also begun at Dr Bhishambar Das Marg. Five MP buildings have been demolished for this purpose. The proposed building will be Y-shaped and will include two blocks of 26 flats each.

CPWD officials said that there is a great demand for providing housing for MPs at high-class locations.

They are also looking at constructing a multi-storeyed housing for MPs at Feroz Shah Road to meet the demand for “bigger and better housing” by MPs.
