On the lines of AIIMS hubs- Punjab gifts three sites
Punjab has a dream and a vision, which is to have institutes on the lines of the esteemed All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Hearing the pleas, the Punjab State Government now has brought forth three sites, each spanning 200 acres around the district of Kapurthala. The aim of the Punjab Government is to provide world-class and state of the art medical and health care facilities to the people of Punjab and it’s surroundings. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab said this Tuesday that the sites have been short listed and the meeting for the same was successful. In addition to that, the Principal Secretary of Health was asked to send out a detailed concept note which would inform the esteemed Union Ministry of Health about the same and the developments in future for the sites proposed.
Parkash Singh Badal, the CM also asked the Principal Secretary Health to speak with the Union Ministry of Health and to further speed up the process by sending experts to visit the sites and get the final word on land acquisition for such a noble purpose, says a spokesman of the CM.
Once the nod and approvals are given and in place, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala D S Mangat assured seamless transitioning of land for the job at hand.
