One third property brokers in Dubai are Indians and Pakistanis
According to a new report by Dubai Land Department (DLD), out of a total 2,238 in the Gulf emirate, around 676 real estate brokers from India and Pakistan are operating in Dubai. The UAE nationals made up the largest percentage of the city’s property brokers. As per the report, for every five men there is a woman working in the sector.
British property dealers are 177 while Indians and Pakistanis comprise around 336 and 340 respectively. Other nationalities include Egyptian, Philippines, Iran, Russia and Uzbekistan. Yousif Al Hashimi, deputy chief executive of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, the regulatory arm of DLD, points out that laws are quite robust in Dubai and brokers are reassured by the legislation.
Khaleej Times states that the number and diversity of nationalities working in the field of real estate brokerage reveals the attraction of Dubai real estate and indicates the confidence of the brokers.
