Online submission for environmental clearance on a go
Environment minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said online submission of applications for environmental and forest clearances and online monitoring has helped ease the process a lot, cutting delays to a great extent.
Outlining the ministry’s achievements in the first 100 days of his being at the helm, the minister said powers would be delegated to regional empowered committees which have experts, representatives from states and the environment ministry to grant forest clearances for proposals seeking diversion of forest land upto 40 hectares.
Javadekar said 219 applications of environment clearances and 46 for forest clearances have been filed online. He stated that they have laid down a process which is creditable and they have made processes which are transparent.
The online process will help in easing the pressure that was faced at the office. This has also helped in saving up a lot of time. According to the authorities many applications have been sent in including environment clearances and forest clearances. The government officials are overwhelmed with such a fast build up of requests. This action has for surely benefited the government officials.
