Opposition in Vadodara Municipal Corporation objects to land deduction in town planning schemes
In the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) former opposition leader has raised objections in the new town planning (TP) schemes to deduction of land prepared, work on which was completed recently.
The VMC hadf projected 26 TP schemes out of which in the stipulated time period it could come up with only three. Chinnam Gandhi, councillor and former opposition leader, said that it had come to his notice that regarding land deduction from the scheme anomalies had come to light at several places. While drawing TP schemes VMC deducts land for providing amenities and commercial use too.
In a letter to the VMC commissioner Gandhi said that in some cases in a few plots 40 per cent of the land had been deducted while in some others there was zero to 10 per cent deduction. He said the even when the plots were vacant there was low deduction in some cases.
Gandhi has also claimed that by putting roads through Harni pond it had been divided into five parts. He said that this was in breach of Supreme Court directives on water bodies.
