Panel formed for early completion of Info valley project
A nine member inter- departmental high powered project monitoring committee has been constituted by the state IT (information technology) department in a bid to expedite the completion of Info-valley project.
Spread over 600 acres of land, the Info-Valley, the second IT Park in the city, has the development on slow lane, is. On the outskirts of Bhubaneswar it is developed by the Idco (Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation). IT major Infosys allotted about 50 acres of land for its second campus is the anchor tenant for the Info-valley.
To monitor the progress of Info-valley project for early completion, the committee formed has the state IT secretary as the chairman while chairman and managing Director of Idco will be the co-chairman. The other members of the panel are secretary of works department, special secretary (H&UD department), representative from the energy department, project director of National Highways Authority of India (Bhubaneswar), Khurda collector, Infosys centre head (Bhubaneswar). Additional secretary of the IT department is the member convenor.

“To monitor the progress of Info-valley project and to find out bottlenecks if any and take required actions for early completions of the project the committee shall meet at least once in a quarter “, read an IT department notification.
Unable to provide permanent power connectivity and water supply to the anchor tenant who is likely to commence operation from April this year, the state government has decided to provide the required amenities through interim arrangements.
As decided the four lanes approach road to the Info Park will be completed by March next year.
The state’s new ICT policy aims to achieve a turnover (including exports of software and IT services and Electronic System Design Manufacturing, domestic consumption and training) of four billion dollar by 2020 with the development of this complex.
Besides, the state government has already prepared a road map to attract the hardware manufacturers in the proposed IT Park and is also making efforts to provide a conducive atmosphere intended for the ESDM companies.
For setting up of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) over an area of about 216 acres within the Info valley Idco has recently submitted a detailed project report (DPR) to the Centre.
