PE investments in Indian real estate has dropped
Private equity (PE) funds have become conscious regarding the investment into real estate in India.
Now a days, the PE firms are showing less interest in investing in start up projects, since most of the earlier investments have not shown the expected appreciation so far. Moreover, the project delays also worries the PE investors.
$359 million of investments have been recorded in the first four months of 2012. While the total investment in real estate last year was recorded at $ 946 million.
According to various Industry experts, smaller developers across the country are having a tough time in raising funds for their new projects from PE investors.
