Plans drawn up by the Rlys to get all the projects costing Rs.50, 000 crore start rolling
It is not just the Modi government which has decided to work towards getting all infrastructure projects cleared within the first 100 days of office but also the railway ministry has come up with a 100 day plan to get all the crucial projects which cost Rs. 50,000 crore to begin as soon as possible.
There are several projects which shall be completed within a time frame. Some of them are 534-km Sonnagar-Dankuni section belonging to the eastern railway corridor, the electric locomotive factory located at Madhepura along with a diesel locomotive factory at Marhowrah. The Mumbai elevated railway corridor, port and coal projects of connectivity and station contracts of redevelopment are also an integral part of this massive project.
The Private Public Partnership will be used in order to establish all these projects. However, they had been stuck for about 5 years even though there was interest shown on behalf of the investors. One of the railway board officials mentioned that there will be several stages of bidding for the projects and contracts will be awarded according to the 100 day plan as per the term lines.
