Pollution Control Board of UP sent out notices

The Uttar Pradesh pollution control board (UPPCB) on Thursday shot off notices to 257 ongoing projects and some established educational institutes in Noida and the Yamuna Expressway region for not procuring pollution or environmental clearances before starting construction.

The UPPCB has asked all these 257 buildings to update the UPPCB on the status of their ongoing constructions and to procure the necessary clearances. Senior officials of the department claimed that if any builder failed to get these clearances, they would not be granted completion certificates.

Atulesh Yadav the regional officer of UPPCB Gautam Budh Nagar said that they have sent 244 notices directly to housing scheme builders of ongoing projects under the Noida Authority and 13 notices to some builders and institutes under the purview of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. The notices have asked them to update them about the status of their construction immediately. They have sent a set of copies of all these notices to the Noida Authority and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, respectively.

The pollution control notices were given out to put aside the problems arising with the former.
