No Comments Sub Category:Construction,Infrastructure,Realty News Posted On: Jul 16, 2014

The Porur flyover work had been stopped for more than two years. The work had been put to hault due to the urgent need to bring in a change in the design of the flyover. The state highways department has recently tried to begin a fresh effort in order to restart the Porur flyover project. The requirement for a new design was mainly because of a glitch in the previous design with which the flyover project had started.

The project initially began in the year 2010. The exact estimation to complete the project then was taken as Rs 35 crore. However due to problem in design and other matters the cost of the construction of the flyover has gone up by an amount of Rs 20 crore.

The state highways department has been trying to revive the project without any further delay. One of the top official in the state highway department wing stated that they have sent a request to the government to provide them with a revised plan sanction so that the work that has already been delayed can start with a new design. The state highway department hope that they would soon receive a fresh sanction which could help them start the work.
