Possession of Noida flats delayed due to National Green Tribunal order

Comments(4) Sub Category:Realty News,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Jun 09, 2014

A recent order by the National Green Tribunal has led to a delay in the possession of completed flats in Noida, thereby affecting nearly 20,000 homebuyers.

The National Green Tribunal order which has caused the delay in the possession of flats essentially prohibits the Noida Authority from giving a completion certificate to projects which are within a 10km radius of Okhla Bird Sanctuary.

The judgment by the National Green Tribunal is not only affecting the nearly 20,000 homebuyers who were hopeful of receiving possession of their completed flats, but will also have an impact on 30,000 more potential flat-owners who have bought apartments in the area.

Revealing that 30,000 more apartments were likely to be completed over the next year, Credai NCR president Rohit Raj Modi said that the pace of work at the projects has now been slowed down by the developers, after the National Green Tribunal order.

Pointing out that the National Green Tribunal’s judgement has affected a total of 25 projects, Modi said that the key builders whose projects have been affected include Amrapali, Jaypee, Logix, Gulshan Homz, Antriksh, ATS, Supertech, and Paramount.

With buyers likely to face hardships due to delay in securing the completion certificate, Amrapali’s Executive Director Shiv Priya said: “Most buyers want to take possession during May-June, when they can change the school of their children. We also plan delivery for this period. But, this time, despite completing the delivery cannot be given.”

This move have delayed 50,000 flat possession & Noida Authority has no answer for the property buyers who dream to own the property.

  2. Ranjan Gupta says:

Good move to save Okhla Bird Sanctuary. But, the initiative was late move and will this move be taken as example to save Bird & Wild life Sanctuaries in India.

  3. Sandhya Krishna says:

Why the issue is raised during the Possession of flats. Noida Authority & National Green Tribunal must have taken action before approving the construction plan.

  4. Raj says:

What about other cities and Bird Sanctuary? i.e. Gurgaon Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary – New Gurgaon might get effected with 10 Kms Radius….
