Problems in acquiring land for new capital
Despite the obvious difficulties of acquiring land for the new capital via land pooling, the AP government seems reluctant about utilizing the readily available forestland in Krishna district. According to a report sent by the district administration, a large extent of degraded forest land is available at different locations.
About 2,200 acres is available in Jujjuru and Rangapuram villages of Kanchikacherla mandal in one stretch. Similarly, 5,365 acres is available in Gaddamanugu, Loya, G Konduru, Nayapathavaram, Kadiyam Pathavaram and Duggiralapadu villages of G Konduru mandal. Another 2,300 acres is available in Kethanakonda, Gangineni and Mulapadu villages of Ibrahimpatnam mandal.
The problem for acquiring the land is being caused because the stretch of land is spread over some villages in stretches. The government has not decided what they would be doing but they are looking forward in acquiring the land that is available. As stated before some degraded forest land is also available for the new capital. The Andhra Pradesh government is looking forward in utilising this land as is being stated. However this whole process might take some more time.
