Properties can be acquired only on genuine need
Now, Government can not acquire any land they wish.
Supreme Court has ordered that government can acquire only those lands if it has a genuine need of it.
Furthermore, it said any private properties can not be acquired under urgency clause.
Only if there is real emergency, then it can be used if proper justification under urgency clause is given.
The judgment came into being when private lands of few residents in Mandoli village were being taken by Delhi Transco Limited for constructing an electric substation.
