Property records to be maintained by Government

The state government of Karnataka has approved the implementation of the Urban Property Ownership Record (UPOR) program in Bangalore.

With this initiation, the government is expecting to control the fraudulent activities related to property transactions.

According to the records, there are 16 lakh assessed properties, while the officials are expecting another 4 to 5 lakh properties to be registered. Once the government will register all the properties in Bangalore, the records will be helpful for the property buyers.

Property records will serve as the trusted record for all transactions and will serve as evidence for property ownership, regulatory and legal purposes. This scheme has been already implemented successfully in Mysore, Shimoga, Hubli-Dharwad and Bellary.
