Property buyers protest against real estate agents in Gurgaon
Around 50 home buyers, comprising businessmen, IT professionals and MNC employees, protested against Unitech in Gurgaon South City Area. The company failed to keep its promise to hand over flats within the time frame. The protestors had booked flat in Sunbreeze Apartment Project at Sector 69.The project was to be completed in 2012. Of the total 14 towers comprising 872 units, the construction of 10 towers is complete but finishing touches are still pending as of now. Himanshu Dube, an IT professional, points out that he had 2009 with the overall cost of Rs 60 lakh. He adds that all the people have paid up to 85 to 90 per cent the amount with the developer but they are not giving the exact time of possession.
It is alleged by the protestors that the company had not started construction at the site till 2011 despite launching it in 2009. The company clarified that four towers would be given possession by the end of 2015, while four more towers will be handed over at the end of 2016. However, no clarification about completion was given for rest of the towers.
