Property defaulters are to face brunt in South Delhi

Comments(4) Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Municipality,Property Tax Posted On: Aug 23, 2012

South Delhi property tax defaulters are to bear brunt of Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The south Delhi Municipal Corporation has geared up to crack down on defaulters who have rented their properties but have not been paying the right amount of property tax.

The Corporation officials state that most of the residents are either not paying the property tax or paying less than the rate applicable for rented out residential properties, thus causing revenue loss to the corporation.

It has been decided that if the residents pay the tax before August 31, they will get a 15 percent rebate. The corporation has already sent notices to almost all south Delhi resident welfare associations (RWAs) asking them to sensitize each member on the issue.
