No Comments Sub Category:Chennai,Property Tax,Realty News Posted On: Jul 18, 2012

The Chennai Corporation has made arrangements for property tax payments at counters of any of the 146 branches of three designated banks from today onwards.

It was planned earlier but delayed due to technical glitches. However, the facility will be started with three banks: Indian Overseas Bank (74 branches), City Union Bank (31 branches) and Karur Vysya Bank (41 branches) from Wednesday, said a senior official.

Now, the banks will collect property tax from any of the 10 lakh tax payers in cash or cheques.

The existing modes of payment of property tax include hand-held-devices, net banking, credit card, debit card and ITZ card payment, collection at counters in zones, headquarters and select divisions and interactive voice response system.
