The National Society For Clean Cities (NSCC) in Pune has rejected construction activity on Vetal Hill belonging to the Law College road. This has turned the citizens of Pune aggressive. However the hearing was recently given at the town planning department in Sahakarnagar. NSCC officials reported saying that in the previous year the citizens had taken initiative to protect the hills and green areas surrounding the Pune city and also the permission for allowing construction on the hill was barred.

NSCC president Satish Khot reported saying that the citizens have to present for the hearing, reason being numbers are counted important as the issue is hard to be ignored. Also the citizens of Pune are encouraged to bring placards with a sign saying “save our hills”. The main reason behind the citizens fighting is for the survival of the greenery in their city. With the ongoing fast infrastructure the greens all over the city are loosing place and also Vetal Hill is said to be heart of Pune, however the state government is on floors to demolish this property also. Meanwhile NSCC monthly meeting has decided to oppose the government proposal.
