An e-registration project for registering properties is set to be launched by Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps (IGR) in Pune. The project is scheduled to be lunched on Thursday, July 10, by Balasaheb Thorat – Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister – at Nanded city project.

About the launch of online registration project for property registration in Pune, IGR Shrikar Pardeshi said on Wednesday – while addressing a news conference in the city – that the project will facilitate the property buyers in completing all registration-related formalities. The buyers will be able to complete the formalities from the developer’s site office; thus eliminating the need to visit the office of a Sub-registrar.

According to the details shared by Pardeshi, the facility of online registration will be provided at construction sites which have more than 5000 apartments. Pardeshi said that the developers of these sites will be asked to open an office for e-registration at their respective project site, so that the registration process can be speedily completed by the buyers.

Further adding that the e-registration process will be the same as in the Sub-registrar’s office, Pardeshi said that the e-registration project is being launched after the successful completion of a pilot project carried out for Nanded city on Sinhagad Road.

Noting that Pune will be India’s first city to launch online registration project, Pardeshi said that the project will “not only save money and time of buyers but will also help provide efficient and transparent service.”
