1 Comment Sub Category:Municipality,Pune Posted On: Jul 25, 2012
A resolution to make  rainwater harvesting system mandatory for all new buildings and existing government owned buildings in the city has been approved by the standing committee.
The committee also approved the heritage walk proposal.
All new buildings in the city must have rainwater harvesting and old buildings owned by the government and civic body should develop them, said Baburao Chandre, the committee’s chairman.
In order to resolve water scarcity problem, the committee has ordered the acquisition of well. Funds allotted to the cooperators can be used to clean wells and make water fit to drink, he added.
