Rainwater harvesting must be implemented

Comments(2) Sub Category:Green Living,Real estate trends,Realty News Posted On: May 14, 2012

Water scarcity is going to be a challenge for the residents as well as for different civic authorities in India. To overcome the crisis, experts from the industry sector and real estate urged that industries and builders need to implement rainwater harvesting in projects in India.

According to the experts, government must provide assistance in terms of subsidies to industries and developers for initiating rainwater harvesting in their real estate projects across the country.

The experts have also said that the huge amount of water is wasted, and no one gives a thought to save water. People awareness is important to save the water.

Rain water harvesting is the right way to fight against the scarcity of water. But, the builders are not installing the rain water harvesting in their projects as RWH require infrastructure and financial support.

At present, developers are getting very little rebate from the municipal authorities for following the Eco housing policies in their projects, due to which many water recycling plants have down.

I couldn’t agree more. It seems the government may have to offer some incentives to the builders and developers. It is the right thing to do.
