Rainwater harvesting to save future water woes!

Comments(2) Sub Category:Awareness,Bangalore Posted On: May 11, 2012

The fashion of installing Rainwater harvesting system seems not to have fancied the minds of Bangalore residents.

The main fact is that maximum of the population do not know the functioning and structure of this system.

To prove the same, the “water man of Bangalore” Jeff D’Lemos  a retired engineer says that he has been dealing with either repairing or replacing of RWH system, rather than newly installing at homes in Bangalore.

He also adds on saying during 44 years of his service dealing with RWH, he has witnessed that people are interested only to install Rainwater harvesting and later on they forget to monitor.

BBMP is planning to in force the installation of water harvesting system, not only to the newly constructed apartments but also to the old ones.  The apartments having big roof areas can collect lot of rainwater when compared to normal individual houses.

Even though the water crisis has hit Bangalore badly, people here are still not realizing the importance of saving water. To avoid future water crisis it’s better to start gearing up from now on by saving water and getting the rainwater harvesting done in our respective apartments and individual houses.
