Real estate projects face delay in approvals
Files of real estate projects are piling up at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) for the past two months waiting for approval.
The new metropolitan commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad is said to be sending the files back to the developers red-marked with query after query so that the files stay in endless cycles.
The Authority is under pressure from builders and developers who have time-bound projects which if delayed would draw heavy loss. Worried developers and builders are trying hard to contact the concerned persons to get approval but all in vain.
Other HMDA officials suggested that IAS officers, after the recent arrest of senior officers like BP Acharya and Y Sri Lakshmi, are planning to be on safe side. They prefer to put back decision rather than clearing them.
Officials said that that earlier it took a week for legitimate projects to get approval. They expressed that since building regulation is the responsibility of the GHMC, the over-caution the HMDA substantiates in projects is not necessary.
