Real estate sector faces labour crisis

No Comments Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Realty News Posted On: Aug 07, 2012

The Indian realty and construction sector is facing a grave problem in the form of severe shortage of workforce.

While increasing urbanization is generating unprecedented demand for real estate, there is a shortage of skilled as well as unskilled laborers to meet the demand.

This massive requirement for realty space results in huge demand for professionals to build and deliver. According to data, the sector requires about 35 million skilled and unskilled labourers but their availability is somewhere around 25 million.

The active role played by agencies like National Skill Development Corporation can be an alibi to address shortage of skilled labour force, which can be generated through specialized courses and curriculum, under the guidance of professional faculty.
