Record breaking land auction in Rajarhat, Kolkata
Rajarhat New Town seems to be top priority for investors in Kolkata.
In the highest ever land auction in the area till date, a 2.5-acre plot for a retail-cum-office complex has fetched Rs 51.13 crore for the Housing Infrastructure and Development Corporation (Hidco). The plot at Action Area-II of New Town is located near the major arterial road.
Officials are upbeat about the fact that investors were showing interest in town plots and are also exploring land sale options through e-auctioning.
At present, commercial plots in Rajarhat New Town cost about Rs 10 crore per acre. With the demand for plots in New Town on the rise, the realty sector in West Bengal seems to have got a boost.
