Residential apartments constructed on heritage land

Residential apartments constructed in the temple courtyard of Belbaug temple at Somwar Peth, Pune.

It is reported that the temple has a heritage of 400 years old and the recent structure of the temple holds a small temple and a smaller Varanda.

According to the Khapardes, who manage and own the temple, never approached the Pune municipality for the maintenance of the temple.

Rather they constructed apartments in the temple land and started earning from the apartments.

In present scenario the entire temple is hiding behind the jungle of concrete and apartments.
