Residents fight against builder to save mangrove

No Comments Sub Category:Municipality,Realty News Posted On: Jan 05, 2012

Lokhandwala residents are on a saving spree of a mangrove land.

The residents have put their heart out to save the land which might get used for illegal construction.

Nav Karan Co-operative Housing Society residents allege that a 10,000 sq m of mangrove land has been destroyed located near Oshiwara creek.

This destruction was done for construction of a 21-storey tower by a builder on 7741 square metre.

Due to uprooting of the mangroves, Nav Karan Co-operative Housing Society fears that it will lead to flooding during monsoon season.
