Retired employees concerned against house tax hike in Allahabad
Senior citizens and retired employees of Allahabad organised a meeting at Chandra Shekhar Azad Park in which they raised concern over hike in house tax.
United Forum of Pensioners Association, expressing the views of retired employees have urged the municipal commissioner, mayor, district magistrate to take measures to reduce the proposed hike.
The state government had promised to provide about 40 to 60 per cent concession to the retired employees and senior citizens but on the contrary there has been a hike in house tax to the disappointment of the retired citizens.
Activists of Public Ekta Manch also expressed their disapproval and took out a mock funeral procession of Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administration.
