RMC to auction defaulters’ properties
Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to auction 14 properties of the defaulters in order to strengthen its property tax collection drive. The drive is to be held between July 16 and July 21.
The Corporation has so far collected Rs 84.31 crore as property tax which is 28 crore more than the previous year.
Seeking more response from tax payers, RMC has decided to extend 5 percent rebate scheme until July 15.
350 property tax defaulters have been warned by Corporation that failure in paying tax before July 15 will result in auctioning properties.
Property tax collection alert is being released by RMC in order to remind the property owners about the delayed tax dues. RMC targets a sum of Rs 150 crore from property tax collection this year.
