Road widening at Spine Road by PCMC
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is planning to widen the Spine Road at Triveninagar in Talawade by 600 meter to reduce the traffic snarls.
The Spine Road is an important link road which is 14 km from the Mumbai-Pune highway to the Pune-Nashik highway. The road has been developed by the Pimpri Chinchwad New Township Development Authority (PCNTDA) which also connect major industrial units in the Pimpri-Chinchwad belt.
The civic body needs to widen the road as it falls in their limit. The Spine Road connects the Pune-Nashik and Pune-Mumbai highways and the Chinchwadgaon-Ravet road, which pass through PCMC limits. As per Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal CorporationĀ development plan, the stretch at Triveninagar needs to be widened 90 meter, as said by PCNTDA executive engineer Anil Suryavanshi.
The stretch in Triveninagar is only five metre wide and has many turns. The town planning department had initiated the process of land acquisition to widen the road, Satish Poreddy from the PCMC engineering department said.
