Rupees 3,500 crore may be risked by Mumbai Metro !!!
The government of Maharashtra has shown interest in starting off with the third phase of Metro. The experts and the advisers on the other hand have a feeling that the metro line does have a couple of flaws. Because of this, they have gone ahead and protested against the current norms in constructing the underground stretch which goes up to 33 kilometres.
It is believed that a total of Rupees 3,500 crore might actually become a burden on the exchequer. There are several advisers who believe that the present traction model which was adopted by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and its inability to meet the any eventuality could lead to this extra burden.
The Mumbai Metro Phase II is about to eliminated. This is because the Mumbai Metro Transport Private Ltd has finally signed an agreement of concession since the agreement of Metro II in the year 2010 was not successful when it came to receiving all environmental clearances. In fact Sudesh Kumar who happens to be a railway board member has mentioned that India has been using the old AC model for a long period of time.
